It may be winter, but sometimes tights just don't cut it. Something about tights kind of kills an outfit for me, and I'm not sure why. But sometimes, legs out is a little too much for daytime too, especially with a shorter skirt. That's where knee high boots come in perfectly.
You may have seen them on every store shelf this Autumn/Winter and they seem to be THE 60's style staple of AW14. Whether they're flat, heeled, platform, you will see them on every blogger and fashionista alike. I picked up these lovely Daniel boots last year, and what drew me to them were their similarities to the celeb fave Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots. I decided to go for flat ones, practical and a nice change boot wise. These boots are such amazing quality and were definitely worth the money, and having researched and compared to the Stuart Weitzman boots, I must say they are a perfect alternative.
I decided the boots were the perfect match to this cute, also somewhat 60's inspired miniskirt from 5Fashion. A little bit of dogtooth is just what you need for winter, and pared with a dash of burgundy and faux fur, I am feeling a bit nostalgic with this look. This skirt is an absolute bargain too, coming in at less than £10, and comes in a couple of different patterns; you can never have too many mini's!
