Photography - James Dean
I would usually keep a dress like this, a pencil, strapless, midi dress, to wear during the night time. I find strapless pieces a little bit revealing for a daytime look and pencil skirts only really work with heels. But, I didn't want to keep this beautiful striped dress from Rare London for those rare occasions I do go out. So I decided to see how I could make it a little more daytime friendly.
The beautiful thing about strapless items is that they look great layered. And I decided to throw on this grey polo neck underneath, for a bit of added coverage and warmth too. I paired this look with this lovely trench coat from Pretty Little Thing. The navy blue colour really drew me to this coat and I thought it was the perfect amount of colour to add to the outfit, without being too distracting. I brought this little H&M bag out from the back of my closet too, which I almost forgot I even had! It's such a great colour and I seem to only go for messenger bags these days. Who needs a bad back from carrying the world in your oversized handbag anyway.
Thank you to the very talented James Dean for the photography, who's portfolio you can check out here.
